Leads For Network Marketing – Why You Should Be Searching Online

Prospecting leads for network marketing is the key for anyone to survive in the MLM industry. Unfortunately, very few people are actually effective at going out there and doing it. It sounds so simple… Get involved, make a list of everyone your know, and invite them to take a look at your opportunity. Wow, is it really that easy? You mean that’s all I need to do to make a fortune in this business? Hmmm… well, if it is really that easy, then why isn’t everybody getting rich and why are so few people making a substantial, consistent paycheck.

Ok, reality check. To start with, let’s not confuse “simple” with “easy”. Yes, the process of prospecting leads for network marketing is “simple” but it is truly not “easy”. In my experience (and I have built a large MLM organization in the past), it takes a great deal of credibility and ability for someone to actually prospect their friends, neighbors, and relatives effectively. Most people flat out can not do it. That’s why so many people get into network marketing and never recruit anyone. So here’s the next problem- if the upline leadership does not have a way for prospecting leads outside of one’s warm market, then as soon as someone burns through the friends, neighbors, and family, they are discouraged and frustrated and out of options.

Here’s more “truth” to consider… millions of people are searching the internet every day looking for business opportunities. So if you are in MLM, why wouldn’t you go where someplace where people are searching for what you have. Let me use this example: If I told you that there would be 10,000 people at the gymnasium of your local high school tomorrow looking for a home based business, would you go there? Any eager MLM’er would probably camp out overnight for a chance just to get in the door. Well, there are more people than that online right now looking for a home based business, so why aren’t you investing some time (and probably some money) to learn how to capture a few of these leads?

Here are just a few ways that you could be finding network marketing prospects and leads online:

* Article Writing (doesn’t even really matter what your topic is)
* Video Marketing (this method is incredibly easy)
* Blogs (you may not understand them but you can learn)
* Social Networking (you are probably already on Facebook or Twitter, time now to really learn how to use them)
* Social Bookmarking (improves search engine ranking)
* Landing Pages (allows you to capture the prospect’s information)
* AutoResponders (allows you to automatically send information to your prospect)

Here’s the best part- you could use ALL of these methods for less than $50 per month! Most of them are free.

Let me ask you another question. If you were looking for a home based business, what would you do? Would you ask a friend, neighbor, or relative? Or would you go online and search for opportunities? Ok, so if you would go online and search, then why are you not prospecting online? Alright then, MLM veterans will respond by saying “The online method is too difficult to learn and it is not duplicatible”. Holy understatements Batman! Seems to me that trying to recruit your friends and relatives is difficult to learn and not many can duplicate it. Hey, just saying… Others might have some retort like “Recruiting online won’t work because it is too impersonal”. Well, that person clearly doesn’t know anything about online marketing.

One final thought- as a network marketer, you will spend hours trying to convince someone to take a look at something new. You will ask them to be open minded and to consider a different way of doing something. You will also ask them not to make a decision until they have all the facts. So isn’t it a bit hypocritical for you not to consider a new way to prospect leads for your network marketing business? Imagine this for just one second, how many more people could you recruit if you could tell them that you had a way for them to build a network marketing business WITHOUT having to approach their friends and family.

Online marketing is a skill. Just like anything else. You CAN learn it if you have someone that can teach you. You just have to be willing to take that first step and willing to learn something new. If you’re not learning it, there’s a good chance that your competition is!

As always, I wish you the best of success!
