Multiple Streams of Income

In the year 2000, Robert G. Allen wrote a well-known book by the name of Multiple Streams of Income which quickly hit the New York Times Best Seller list.  Allen is a highly respected entrepreneur, author, and speaker.

Although Robert Allen’s principles and concepts discussed in the book are a decade old, they still hold true today as he promotes sound stock strategies, investment in foreclosure properties, and the value of developing a network marketing business. He also details in great length the power of what he calls “infopreneuring”. To put it succinctly, Allen provides examples of how thousands of people have created fortunes by selling information and advice. By developing a level of expertise in almost any niche, you put yourself in a desirable position of having information that other want and will often times be willing to pay for. This level of expertise can come from education, experience, or any number of other sources.

Multiple Streams of Income also has a chapter devoted on the necessity of building an online business and leveraging the power of the internet. He is quick to point out that an online business works for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It does not take vacations, call in sick, or go on strike. The overhead is extremely low and it can be run from your home. He goes on to say that in the past, the mantra of traditional business has always been “location, location, location” but now it would be more accurate to say that the key is “traffic, traffic, traffic” in reference to web traffic and visitors to your site. He advocates learning the secrets of driving traffic online, stating that it learning how to “…funnel hot prospects…” will lead you to be “…set for life!”

Why am I bringing this book to your attention?  Simple… in today’s economic climate, attempting to rely on a single income source can lead to financial ruin.  Indeed, it already has for many families.  Now more than ever we must keep our eyes open for opportunity and not be afraid to venture into new territory.  This is so appropriate when it comes to our industry.  It may be a new website, a new product line, an additional business, or any number of things.  Take a look at anyone you know that has created wealth (if you don’t know anyone wealthy, think of Donald Trump).  The wealthy usually didn’t get that way by relying on just one income source.  Multiple Streams of Income should be in the library of every entrepreneur holding on to the dream of becoming wealthy through self development and investment.

My recommendation is that you have a copy of this book and show it to your prospects.  Show them the chapter on Network Marketing.  If MLM proponents such as Robert Allen, Donald Trump, and Robert Kiyosaki can’t make your point with your prospect, then they are most likely not a prospect worth pursuing.  Time to say “Next!”.

LiveSmart 360 Business Secrets- 5 Tips for Success!

If you are building a LiveSmart 360 business, then you are a part of a network marketing company that is very young. While this often presents tremendous opportunity, it also can have a perilous future as most network marketing companies do not make it out of their first year. For the sake of argument, however, let’s assume that LiveSmart 360 is one of the lucky ones and discuss what you need to do to build a strong and successful LiveSmart 360 business, or a network marketing business with any company.

Have an automated lead generation system in place.

As long as you are building a LiveSmart 360 business, you will need leads/prospects.  If you are fortunate enough to have a massive list of people in your warm market (1000+), and you don’t mind contacting them all, then you may not need this system.  However, 99% of network marketers do NOT have this type of warm market and therefore need to have a way of generating leads.  Having an online system allows you to build a prospect list on autopilot and gives you the freedom to focus on other important business activities.  In addition, having this system in place also puts you into rare company among network marketers as most will not take the time to develop the system.

Have the courage to approach people

The late MLM trainer, John Kalench, used to say that the most important quality that a network marketer has to have is courage.  If you want to make it to the top, plan on being ridiculed and rejected, but you will need to persevere and refuse to give up.  Listen, the riches of this industry are reserved for those who will do what others will not.  Some will reject you for your product and others will reject you for your industry.  Be prepared for it and refuse to let the nay-sayers defeat you.

Have and follow a duplicatible off line system.

Even though the online component is critical for lead generation, the off line component is just as important for building LiveSmart 360.  In fact, it may be even more important as many of your new recruits will not be willing to devote the time necessary to becoming successful online.  For those individuals, a simple to follow off line system is mandatory.  Without it, your business will crumble.  But most importantly, YOU must follow this system.  For instance, if you want new distributors to join LiveSmart 360 at the Executive Level, then you should join at the Executive Level.  If you want your downline to participate in meetings, conference calls, and trainings, then you must participate in these same events- even before you have a downline.

Be a part of a Mastermind team.

This is essential for long term growth and success.  You absolutely must align yourself with the leaders and those that are actively and successfully moving forward and creating momentum.  If you LiveSmart 360 sponsor is not this type of person, then go upline until you find a leader and someone that can mentor you.  Network with the leaders, go where they go, and do what they do.  Learn from those who are building and growing.  Without these relationships, you will rarely ever accomplish your dreams and goals.

Learn to follow, then learn to lead.

Too often, new distributors in every company try to “reinvent the wheel”.  This is almost always a recipe for failure.  First, you must learn to follow.  Follow those who have the big paychecks!  They obviously are doing something right so do what they do.  However, you must then take initiative and be a leader.  Be able to get up in front of a room and present your opportunity, be able to do a training for people in your downline, be able and willing to organize an event or a webinar.  If you continually put this off on your upline, then plan on watching them make the big checks instead of you.  The sooner you become a leader, the easier you will find it for you to recruit.

Becoming successful with LiveSmart 360 really is no different from becoming successful in any company.  What you really need to do right now is take a step back and look at your business.  Ask yourself if you are heading in the right direction with the right team of people and the right timing.  If so, then press on.  But if not, look to make some changes as soon as possible.

Why Do People Quit MLM?

Ready to Learn More?  Click Here Now!

This article is intended for those of you that are already involved in network marketing, or perhaps you have been in the past. You’ve spent countless hours doing all of the things your upline has instructed you to do, setting goals, attending presentations, making a list of people you know, 3-way phone calls, books, DVD’s, webinars, you name it. But still you are having trouble building your business. You have debated on quitting but you truly do believe in the concept of MLM. Well, I’m about to tell you the number one reason why people quit MLM. It will probably surprise you because the reason network marketing people quit is the same reason that some will say is critical for long term success. Are you ready to hear it? Well, before I tell you, first let me say that there may be a few of you that will argue with my assessment. That’s ok, just promise to read this entire article so that you will hear my full argument.

Ok, so now are you ready to hear the #1 reason why people quit MLM?

Here it is… Autoship! Yep, you heard me right, it’s Autoship. I can already hear so many of you experienced network marketers telling me that I’m crazy and that without Autoship, no one would ever make consistent income and without Autoship, company volume would go down and companies would go broke, and all the other arguments against my claim. But wait, allow me to explain.

Most companies require consultants to purchase or sell a minimum of $100 worth of product or service each month in order to remain “active”. This is the company’s way of making sure they have guaranteed sales each and every month. Seasoned MLM’ers will say that a company must have consumable products so that people will use them and then reorder every month automatically (the fundamental basis of autoship). So I won’t battle the traditional wisdom here… At least not too much… But here’s the huge problem.

Very few people will actually sell the $100 worth of products they have to buy every month. Not only will they not sell them, they will not even use them anywhere near fast enough before guess what? The next shipment arrives. Now whether we are talking about vitamins, juice, cosmetics, skin care, or cleaning supplies, the bottom line here is that 90% of the distributor force will not use them as fast as they accumulate them. So guess what happens next? One day, Mr. or Mrs. Distributor goes to the cupboard, opens it up, and sees 3-4 month’s worth of product. Product that they will most likely never use, product that will probably expire and be worthless within a few month to a year, and product that cost them hundreds of dollars. Now, if they are one of the lucky ones that is making $1000 or more each month, this may not bother them. But if they are barely making enough to cover the cost of the autoship order (or perhaps not even that much), then conventional logic kicks in and they decide that they really don’t want to receive any more shipments and they cancel the autoship order. This, my friends, is the beginning of the end. Now, it is just a short matter of time before the distributor quits completely and the entire system breaks down. This, my friend, is the biggest reason why network marketing people fail- forced autoship leading to resignations and attrition.

But perhaps your company has a service as its product. It could be internet service, wireless service, phone service, satellite service, a web based shopping service, or many of the other types of services out there. The problem here is that usually no one uses the service other than people who are trying to build a business. So if the distributor has a difficult time recruiting people (as is usually the case), they soon realize that they are paying for a service which is really supposed to make them money, but instead it is costing them money. A few months of this and they cancel the service.

The inherent problem here is that people are forced to buy a product or a service that usually costs more than a similar item out there in the marketplace. They do it, however, with the hopes of being able to make money. When the money doesn’t come, they start looking at the monthly charge on the credit card bill and decide that they are paying for something that provides little, if any, benefit so they quit.

How do you avoid this?

You really need to step back and take a close look at your company and the direction you are heading. Ask yourself one simple question… Does anyone ever get on autoship with my company if they are NOT building a business? If that answer is “no”, then sooner or later you will fail if you ever stop recruiting. If you want low attrition rates and stability, then you must find a company with a product that people other than distributors will buy every month, a product that people get excited about, and a product that people will keep ordering every month even if it piles up on their shelves or if they can not sell it. Sound impossible? Well, it’s tough, but it’s not impossible. You just need to do your research and due diligence if you want to avoid that #1 reason why people quit MLM.
