Blogging For Web Site Traffic – How to Have a Blog Earn You Money!

Blogging for web site traffic is a common occurrence with internet marketers. How to have your blog earn you money is something that anyone with a web presence (or for that matter any type of business) should take the time to learn. I’d like to briefly discuss how this can be accomplished with just a little effort. In fact, if you are new to blogging, you may find that it is not as difficult or intimidating as you might think.

A blog is simply a web site that you set up where you then post your opinions, thoughts, pictures, videos, etc… There really aren’t any set rules when it comes to blogging. It’s your web site and you can do whatever you want on it, and I should mention that you can do it for free. That’s right, you can start a blog for absolutely no cost. Now, if blogging for web site traffic is your goal, then you are going to want content on your blog that is aimed at attracting the audience you are looking for. If you can accomplish this, then you have also discovered how to have your blog earn you money. Let’s look at some examples to make this a bit easier to understand.

Example One: You have an online store and you want to increase traffic to your site.

If you have an online store, that makes you an expert in whatever you are selling. Even if you are new to that market, you are now an expert. You can now write product reviews, take pictures and videos of different products, and provide general information about many of the items that you sell. Put this info on your blog and put a link from your online store to your blog, send out emails or postcards to your database notifying them of your new blog, and post testimonials from satisfied customers. You will soon find that people will go to your blog just to get information, and when you link your blog to your online store (which is really where you want to direct people) you are now blogging for web site traffic!

Example Two: You own a retail store

So you don’t have a website yet, only a brick and mortar retail store. You want to establish a web presence but you do not want the expense of designing a custom web site. No problem! Start a blog and do everything I mentioned above, plus one more thing… Take pictures and/or mention your happy customers in your blog! Hey, everyone loves to read about themselves. Put their picture or their story on your blog and not only will they go there, they will tell their friends to go there too! Guaranteed, that person will now be a repeat customer. You have just discovered how to have a blog earn you money!

Example Three: You are in direct sales of a product or service.

This would apply to someone who is perhaps a Realtor, insurance salesperson, CPA, network marketer, or any other direct sales person or independent contractor. For you, blogging could make a very significant difference in your business. Here’s why… Stop and think for a moment how many people there are out there who do exactly what you do. It could be a staggering number. So, how can you possibly set yourself apart from the rest, show people that you are different, and earn their business without spending thousands of dollars on advertising? I guess you already know what I’m going to say- with a blog! You can write articles about yourself and your service, show pictures of you and your family (this lets prospects know that you are just like them), pictures of your pets (people love that), photos and testimonials from satisfied customers, and different examples of your expertise in the field. In short, you have created an online brochure for yourself. If you have a business web site already, don’t forget to link it to your blog so you’ll once again be “blogging for web site traffic”! You will also want to add your blog’s address to your business card and marketing materials.

Blogging for web site traffic can be a fun project for you and it can add a great new aspect to your business. It doesn’t matter if you are brand new in your field or if you have 20+ years of experience, discovering how to have a blog make you money is something that you should explore today!

How to Have a Blog Boost Your Network Marketing Business – A Step Towards Relationship Marketing

How to have a blog or even if to have a blog. Let’s discuss it…

Whether you are brand new to network marketing (MLM) or a seasoned veteran, you have heard and/or taught that the key to survival is building relationships. Sometimes it is referred to a “Relationship Marketing” and that term gets used in virtually every type of business, especially any business that involves direct sales. Basically, as the name suggests, getting to know someone and creating a relationship with them is the best way to secure your business. That may be a simple concept but putting it into practice takes, well… practice! It is obviously easier to accomplish when you are talking to someone that you already know, but sooner or later, every network marketer runs out of people they know and they must start talking to people that they don’t know. When this happens, the MLM’er has now hit the critical point in their business and the point at which most (over 95%) fail and quit. Now, I’m not foolish enough to say that having a blog will by itself get the novice networker over this hump, but a big part of converting a cold market prospect into a warm lead lies in the ability of the distributor to gain credibility, confidence and trust from the prospect. Here’s how to have a blog help you accomplish just that…

How to have a blog create credibility is a relatively simple thing to do, if you are willing to do some work. Let’s get that out of the way right now. If you think for a moment that just putting any sort of content online will win you business, you are wrong. There needs to be some value. However, the work can be fun. Most importantly, your blog has to provide some insight into YOU. At the end of the day what it really comes down to is that people will do business with people they like and people they trust. Yes, products and price might be important, but if the prospect doesn’t like you, then you are finished before you even start. So, find interesting and helpful content for your blog that not only promotes your company or opportunity, but also promotes you. It can be text or videos or pictures and it does not need to be perfect, it just needs to be you. Something that says… “This is who I am and this is why you should join me!” Get creative! If you don’t know how to do this, find someone that can teach you. Resources are out there and available. Remember, this is a business so you better plan on spending some money on education. Every business owner out in the real world has to spend money to make money.

Now, maybe you say “My company is already providing me with a free website”. This is the case with most MLM’s today. However, I challenge you to find even one person who joined your organization as a result of the company’s website. They are usually very generic, product focused, and overwhelming. Your company-provided website says nothing about you or why someone should join your team. It does very little to develop any sort of relationship marketing. In fact, I would bet that many of you never refer anyone to your company website (for various reasons). Am I right?

There is a difference between having a website and having a blog. A blog is much more personal, easier to create, and easier to update. You don’t need to know any special html codes or be an expert at web design. In fact, you can set one up for free. If you are wondering “how to have a blog”, it can be as simple as doing an internet search for “how to have a blog”. Once you have a blog established, you now have a place where you can refer your prospects and they can learn about you. You can post your successes and tips and thoughts on this blog and your prospect can really get a feel for how you do business. You can add pictures of yourself and your family to let your prospect know that you are a real person, just like them. You can even record a video introduction on your home page to make it more personable and use your own name as a domain. Imagine this, next time you meet a potential new consultant for your business, you can say to them, “Check out my site at www.yourname.com. You can learn more about me there.” That’s the beginning of relationship marketing.

Here’s the bottom line… if having a blog gains you even one new distributor in your network marketing career, then it was worth the time and effort. Once you learn how to do it, you’ll be able to use that skill for anything down the road, including teaching your downline!
