This review of the company LYF is intended to give you some information to consider before you make a decision on whether or not to join this company. I am not a representative of LYF nor am I a distributor with the company so you are getting an unbiased, third party opinion and overview.
LYF is headquartered in Washington, DC and began its operations in 2010 with a pre-launch in April and the official launch in September. They refer to themselves as the world’s first “Living Business” as they advocate not only a healthy product line but also a healthy lifestyle. They combine healthy relationships with financial opportunity to promote a balanced way of living.
LYF was founded by Michael S. Han, the former founder of Envion. He brings experience and a history of business success in the fields of renewable energy, telecommunications, Internet, and direct marketing to the LYF management team. You can obtain more information about the companies leadership and their plan for international growth from the company website, lyf.com
LYF offers products ranging from nutriceuticals called iChoice to skin and hair care, earth-friendly cleaning supplies, and phone, internet, and wireless services. The LYF consultant definitely has a full arsenal of health and wellness products to market, as well as technology based programs. On the surface, they look to be well funded, well led, and positioned for growth. However, they are a new company and many new network marketing companies do not survive their first two years.
Of course, an additional LYF product is the business opportunity itself. The compensation plan offers multiple ways of earning which include retail sales, group overrides, fastrak bonuses, global bonus pools, and more. The company appears to be focused on training and coaching in order to help its independent consultants succeed through traditional network marketing methods. This means having new distributors make a list of people that they know and go out and prospect them with their upline leaders. This approach, although popular in the 70′s, 80′s, and 90′s, has lost a great deal of its effectiveness in the past decade as people have become more immune to being “pitched” on a business opportunity. If you are contemplating joining LYF and you want to build a business, you MUST answer this question:
What are you going to do when you run out of friends, family, and neighbors with whom to share your exciting new business? Most people never think about this unavoidable issue prior to starting in a network marketing business. As a result, the failure and attrition rate is estimated as high as 97%.
In the past, top income earners in MLM could reach the top of their pay plans simply by having a zeal for the product line combined with persistence and consistency. While these qualities are still vitally important, today’s top earners in network marketing have added another piece which is proving to be essential in creating a large, stable business… the ability to generate a large number of leads online through attraction marketing.
Attraction Marketing is a concept where people would actually contact you to learn more about your LYF opportunity. It requires the proper marketing techniques and the offering of potential team members valuable training and information. In essence, it separates the leaders from everyone else and gives the new distributor a marketing plan other than just talking to people they know.
Success in MLM today requires a balance of the old school network marketing efforts combined with new ways of leveraging the internet in order to reach new heights. I can only urge you to explore and learn these methods if you truly intend to make a career out of your LYF business and achieve the freedom that you desire.
